Comedian Krishna Bhagawan became a prey for news channels today. He went to a College Fresher’s Party as Chief Guest recently. There is nothing controversial in that. But he had gone there boozing almost a half bottle. He spoke from the dais in fumbling tone. Not stopping at that he spoke bad words about popular scholar Garikapati Narasimha Rao. He ridiculed his unbeatable ability of reciting oriental style poetry spontaneously. His drunken talk didn’t stop there. Krishna Bahagwan also cracked double meaning and filthy jokes on his father as well.
“Once my father asked me to write a love letter on his name……..” he said in fumbling voice. Students kept on laughing at his drunken condition. But KB though that they were laughing to his nasty jokes.
It is demeaning to see an ace comedian speaking bad about a scholar, who commands good respect from society. Garikapati Narasimha Rao is a scholar who is upholding the pride of Telugu Language and literature across the globe with his TV shows and various discourses as well as the literary feat ‘avadhanam’.
But why did Krishna Bhagawan come drunk?
There is an analysis for that.
“It is an accepted truth that many people while speaking to public from dais take a couple of pegs or 90 ml to get rid off inhibitions, fear of stage etc. One may wonder how stage fear affects a film actor. In films, the script writers give dialogue and director narrates action. Then the actors perform and they get accustomed to that. But every actor need not be an orator in public. Hence they take some alcohol to break mental barriers. But unfortunately KB took over dose and hence the result”, says a journalist explaining the situation.
But this incident certainly kept KB in dark light. We have to see the reaction of KB on this.
