Being a hero can be stressful. The odd hit will come after a flop too many. There will be continuous pressure from contemporaries and upstarts.
If you survive all this, at the final post there will be the old enemy – advancing age. Only Amitabh survived this in Bollywood. And in Tollywood, if Ragada is any indication, Nagarjuna will be the only one to emulate the great Amitabh. Like vintage wine Nagarjuna is looking better with age. And most important he is looking far better than anyone his age. 25 years of being in the industry, gives one the license to parade and carry off a priceless asset – Attitude. Kadapodu in Ragada was all “Attitude”. It was not very dissimilar to Chulbul Pandey in Dabaang. The producer and director should be credited for flicking this switch on in Nagarjuna. Among his contemporaries he seems to theonly one capable of retaining the combination of maturity and menace that grey-haired heroism demands. Let’s hope Nag delivers!
