The movie revolves around a Mysore family. All is well till a family member receives an award (Nagavalli portrait). All off sudden everything got changed and happiness is replaced by evil power.

  

Venkatesh is playing 2 roles in the film one as magician role named Ramchandra Acharya and another one as Dr. Vijay role. Anushka as Saraswathi, Poonam Kaur as Neetha, Kamalini as Gowri are doing there respective roles while Vimala Raman playing the main lead role as Nagavalli. 

In Mysore a family was disturbed by an ancient painting named Nagavalli. The family

mumbers are Saraswathi, Neetha and Gowri. They are psychologically affected because of Nagavalli. These family members will decide to contact Ramchandra Acharya a psychiatrist, to solve the problem. All directions point to the huge portrait of Nagavalli (Vimala Raman) and it is observed that the portrait is the cause for this. The investigation also takes back to around 125 years when the king Vijayarajendra Bahaddur (Venkatesh) used to live and how his enmity with Nagavalli has been going on since centuries. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

As usual, venkatesh has delivered a energetic performance even at 50. He impresses the audience in all fight, comedy and serious scenes.anushka, kamilini mukherjee, srasha das, richa are also good in their respective roles.

Gurukiran's background score is another highlight of the movie, but it lacks the charm that existed in Nagavalli.;The movie has six songs are good in picturisation and 'flashback song is excellent and it echoes in the viewers' minds long after they leave cinema hall. The camera work, art and costume designing are also commendable.

The movie Nagavalli does not offer anything extraordinary when compared to the original chandramukhi.
