Genelia D’souza is nothing like the sulking, fighting, abusing, squabbling and the cry-baby Aditi that we know of. Rather she is one sweet, spunky, chirpy and cheerful girl of today. And she doesn’t want to
add the sexy tag to her image either. She says, “Aren’t there enough of other girls doing that? Why would I wish to fit myself into the very same mould which others are already pandering to?”
The actress currently has a couple of plum projects slated for release, sometime next year. And while she is a busy superstar down South, her Bollywood career hasn’t really shone up ever since the success of her last big hit set the cash registers ringing at the box-office. After the Chance Pe Dance debacle early this year that sunk without a trace with actor Shahid Kapur, Genelia now gears up for starting a new innings with none other than hunk John Abraham in a yet untitled film. Incidentally, the flick will be a Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster Kaakha Kaakha to be produced by Vipul Shah and reeled by director Nishikant Kamat. In tow is Sanjay Kapoor’s offering It’s My Life also starring actor Harman Baweja. The film will be directed by ace maker Anees Bazmi.
When probed about being inert for a while in the industry, Genelia makes a correction: “Filmmaking is a 24X7 job. It’s an ongoing process you see. New trends and fashions of the craft are being created with each passing day. It’s a constant learning process for me. Look, it’s my films, which place me. I don’t impulsively jump at the ventures that come my way. I’ve worked as hard as for any other role like the Aditi in Jaane Tu...”
