Lately, a new trend has begun in the Tollywood circuit. It is being noticed that many actors are getting into the mode of starting or funding film related website. They feel that the support of websites is required strongly and are looking at it as a better medium to project themselves.
Also, with the print and electronic media being a costly affair, they are setting up websites and are getting to write positive articles about them for image branding. However, the truth is that it is hard to maintain a website not in financial terms but in other aspects.
The challenges are many in the web world and one must be on their toes and run from pillar to post for years together to get a decent traffic. Also, the projection aspect doesn’t really work out as the netizens are smart enough to get the perspective of the website in no time and once they feel it is biased, then they never visit that site anymore. Hope the actors realize this.
