It is also rumoured that the film might witness the debut of Gautham, son of veteran actor Karthik. The film is set on the theme of a coastal village in southern Tamil Nadu is said to be a love story set against fishermen turmoil. The film deals with a sensitive theme which revolves around Indian fishermen fishing in Sri Lankan waters and getting trapped by their navy and following hue and cry in Tamil Nadu.
Akshara always wanted to be behind the camera and is learning the ropes of direction under a well known filmmaker in Bollywood Rahul Dholakia. Akshara has been convinced by Mani and is all set to don the greasepaint. In fact Akshara could not refuse the offer as the offer has come all the way from Mani Ratnam. Kamal Haasan, Sarika, and Shruti are delighted about this offer as this will be a perfect launch pad for her.
The shooting is going to start from September end on the high seas off the coast between Kanyakumari and Kovalam in Kerala. It looks like Mani has traveled back to his roots which have good, meaningful, eye catching, storytelling on the back drop of pictorial lush outdoor locations.
