Kallu Chidambaram says, “I’m still alive”. Well, that’s not the dialogue from any film but he said that to a few journalists when happened to meet him.


Whenever Chidambaram comes to Hyderabad he stays in Vishnu Priya Hotel beside Eenadu Office in Somajiguda. When asked why he is not seen in films these days, he said, “People assume I’m dead. But it’s only my ‘telephone’ that is dead but not me”.

Chidambaram’s home town is Vizag and he used to fly down to his place after the shoot even during his bright days of career. But there were many actors those made Hyderabad as residence to pursue career in Tollywood. Due to the non availability of Chidambaram in city, the directors started preferring Kondavalasa who entertains with north Andhra slang.

Thus Chidambaram lost opportunities. Well, the adage ‘out of sight is out of mind’ aptly suits Chidambaram.
